How difficult is it to self-publish a novel or e-book, and what are some tips or strategies for success in writing a best seller?

I have three published novels - two through a publisher, one online. Many publishers have essentially closed off from accepting unsolicited manuscripts, much of this because of the impact of online publishing making it more difficult for them to make a buck. T do listen to agents. Agents are also becoming marginalized by online stores for a similar reason. As a new writer, your best chance is to actually meet an agent or publisher by some miraculous connection - a friend, or at a party - and let them get to know you as a person. If you live in outback Australia, this isn’t going to help, although there are exceptions. Publishing online is easiest, but GETTING PUBLISHED IS NOTHING. It’s what happens next that counts. The big challenge for the self-publisher, especially online, is getting an audience. My latest novel is Amazon.com. The Brotherhood of Necessity. An action suspense thriller eBook. James Huxley. It is a scorching thriller. I chose to go through Amazon, Kobo etc. to see how things might pan out, given changes in the market. I advertised through Amazon. No impact. I advertised through the Brisbane Courier Mail ($2,000) covering the entire state. No impact. It’s a bit stunning really and one does get the strong impression that Amazon is all about Amazon making money - t have no care or interest in selling your book. I’m sure it’s the same with other online publishers. What did work is standing in front of people outside bookshops and saying, ‘book, book, book’ at them. I did this a few years back and people kept coming up to me to see if there were any copies of ‘50 shades of gray’ left! A large publisher can sell your book more effectively because t have connections to large chain stores. Most everyone else is closed out from the chain stores, and changes in distribution methods about twenty years ago has meant that the little bookstore or newsagency just doesn’t get serviced anymore, so exposure is quite limited for a new author. A matter to consider. if you place a novel online and it doesn’t sell, no matter how good it is, how likely are you to then be picked up by a publisher? Conclusion. writing the novel is by far the easy part, but I wish you well in your endeavours.

Add Page Numbers to PDF: All You Need to Know

For those reasons, getting the sales is much easier. If the book is good, and the sales are there, the author can relax, and stop worrying about the sales. All they have to do is hit publish, move the book to Kindle, and it goes “live.” If the sales aren’t there, they have to move the book on to Nook before they get a reply from someone, and if that comes, they have to move the book on to Apple iBooks, or Kobe, or whatever. The hardest part, to get the sales, is often not writing the book, but rather putting the book out there. I was just reading the comments left for a post from a reviewer, a very positive one, that went viral, to which a woman left comment as follows: “This is very unfortunate for you. I have reviewed three or four books by you over.
