What are your initial impressions of Dorico, the notation software by Steinberg?

Not if you mean for people to listen to it and enjoy it. The playback from notation software is for demonstration purposes only, say if your soloist needs something to practise with or a prospective musical group needs to know about how it will sound in order to program it. Nobody will want to hear professional level concert music played back by any kind of synths, that’s for sure. But if that’s what you need, Finale and Sibelius both have reasonable playback capabilities.
